Interested in becoming a Certified Association Executive (CAE)?
If you have committed to making association management your profession, the CAE can be your key to success. The CAE certification identifies those who have the knowledge essential to serving as an association chief staff officer and is the association credential most highly regarded by your peers and boards alike. Today's successful hospitality sales professionals must possess effective marketing and revenue management skills as well as sound judgment, and interpersonal skills. The Certified Hospitality Sales Professional (CHSP) designation provides recognition for these skills. Recognized worldwide, the CHSP designation is the lodging industry's highest acknowledgment of professionalism for sales professionals in the hotel/hospitality industry. The presentation will include a detailed description of the CHSP program as well as who can qualify for the CHSP. Review the application process, get a brief overview of the study material that is included with the CHSP program fee and review the examination process as well as the list of subjects covered on the exam. Find out exactly what is required of the CHSP recertification process.
Recommended Audience: Individuals who are currently working in the hotel/hospitality industry and fifty percent or more of their job duties and responsibilities involve the sales of sleeping rooms and/or meeting space.

Certified Association Executive (CAE)
Presenter: Lori Frison, CAE; Director, Credentialing; American Society of Association Executives
Lori Frison, CAE is director of credentialing for ASAE. In that role, she oversees the Certified Association Executive credential and ASAE’s Association Management Company Accreditation. She has been on staff at ASAE since August 2007. Ms. Frison holds an undergraduate degree in communication arts from Gannon University, and earned the CAE credential in January 2008. She has worked in association management since January 1997 and her previous experience includes posts as director of certification for the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and assistant director of testing for the National Court Reporters Association.
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP)
Presenter: Christina M. Buck, CMP; CMP Program Director; Convention Industry Council
Christina Buck, CMP is currently the CMP Program Director for the Convention Industry Council. Christina earned her hotel/resort degree from Florida Southern College. She began her career working for a defense association and took a leap over to The Boeing Company where she was a corporate meeting planner. She earned her CMP certification six years ago and has a strong passion for the meeting industry and for the CMP designation.
Certified Hospitality Sales Professional (CHSP)
Presenter: Chalese Wright, CHT; Certification Manager; American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute
Chalese Wright, CHT, the Certification Department Manager at the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AH&LEI). She is a Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT) and has been with AH&LEI for ten years. She has a BSBA in Hospitality Management from the University of Central Florida and a variety of work experience in the hospitality industry with Marriott Residence Inn and Hyatt rooms division internship program, reservations supervisor, front desk supervisor, and catering assistant.
