Active
Active voting membership in MSAE is open primarily to persons employed by voluntary business, trade, professional, technical, educational, philanthropic or similar organizations. The requirement that the organization be voluntary shall not exclude representatives of such organizations as an integrated state bar association or other professional society with a licensing function.
Affiliate
Persons pursuing employment, education or certification in association management or who are interested in purchasing personal services not organizational membership, and are not otherwise eligible to be represented by an active member.
Associate
An associate member is a person employed by an active MSAE member.
Allied
Allied members are suppliers of goods and services. They are interested in the purposes of MSAE, but are not eligible for active or associate membership. People representing allied members have all privileges of membership except voting and holding office. The annual membership investment entitles each allied member to name up to two representatives to participate in MSAE.
Emeritus
A Former member who has retired from management but wants to stay current on industry happenings.
Limited
Staff members whose Chief Staff Executive (CSE) is an Active member and who are not currently members of MSAE. Each staff member may join in one of three areas that is the most beneficial to them: Education, Resource, or Insurance Benefits. Find out more.

Any student whose goal is employment in association management may become a member. The application must be sponsored by a MSAE member and the student must be currently enrolled in an educational institution.
