Proud of Michigan Representation at 2010 Olympics

MSAE is proud of all the athletes that train or have roots in Michigan that participated in the 2010 Olympics.

Michigan has been known for having a strong hockey program and that was proven by having six Michigan players on the 2010 USA Olympic team. Goalie Ryan Miller is from East Lansing; Tim Thomas, also a goalie, is from Flint; Tim Gleason, of Clawson; Jack Johnson from Ann Arbor; Ryan Kesler of Livonia; and Brian Rafalski of Dearborn were members of the team.

Michigan is home for Meryle Davis and Charlie White. They came home with silver medals in Ice Dancing. Evan Bates and Emily Samuelson are fellow U of M students with Davis and White, and Michigan natives. They train out of Canton, along with Canadian Ice Dancing champions, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. All six train under Igor Shpilband and Marina Zueva, former Russian champions.

Michelle Rzapka, a MSU graduate from Novi, is part of the US Bobsled team. The Luge team has Mark Grimmette from Muskegon and many speed skaters train in Houghton.

Way to go Michigan!
