  Angela Madden has been named the new executive director of the Michigan Association of Ambulance Services (MAAS), following a decision made by the MAAS Executive Search Committee. MSAE is proud that MAAS used MSAE Executive Search Services to find their next executive director.

  Given the uncertainty of the pandemic, ORGPRO was always going to look different in 2020. On our call, we went over why we’re offering a hybrid conference, with a virtual experience to complement the option of attending in-person. The conversation was enlightening in a variety of ways, but in two polls we conducted during the call, it was clear that many executives share similar attitudes and concerns about the future of their events. 

• Executive Order Addresses Challenges of Modernization and Current Skills Gap

  

  On July 19th, President Trump unveiled a White House effort to address the challenges of modernization and automation, job training, and the current ‘skills gap’. The Executive Order will establish a national council for American workers and a workforce policy advisory board designed to leverage insights on options for education and training in hopes of impacting the professional development.

   

• Association Society Alliance to Honor the Late Shane Yates, CAE, CMP, CMT

  

  The Association Societies Alliance's (ASA) newly approved annual leadership award has been named after and posthumously awarded to the late Shane Yates, CAE, CMP, CTA, former executive director of the Ohio Society of Association Executives (OSAE). This award honors his memory and contributions to the association sector after he unexpectedly passed away this spring.

  One of the unique attributes of an association is to have a board that represents members. The CEO/president/executive director has as an element of their scope of work to mentor, advise and care for the board. For some this is a challenge, for others it is a treat.

  What’s New at MSAE

  With MSAE’s new organizational membership model, our membership has more than doubled to over 1,700 members.  No longer are we an association just for the Chief Staff Executive…we’re here to serve the entire association staff.  During the past year, we’ve created many new programs, webinars, peer-to-peer community of practice groups, and resources to address the needs of all staff levels.
