Cheryl Ronk Honored with ASAE's First Association Political Leadership Award Bookmark

On Wednesday, March 9th, MSAE President Cheryl Ronk will be honored with ASAE's first ever Association Political Leadership Award at American Associations Day. The award will be presented by John H. Graham IV, president and CEO of The Center for Association Leadership. The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill.

“Because of her tireless support and diligence on behalf of the ASAE grassroots network, we are glad to honor her with this award,” said Graham. “Through this award we recognize and thank her for her leadership in association grassroots and advocacy.”

Over her 25 year tenure as MSAE president, Ronk has mentored hundreds of executives to ensure they have the knowledge and resources to successfully lead their organization.  Ronk represents the association sector on legislative initiatives at state and federal level; Ronk was the only nonprofit professional that participated in the redesign of the Michigan Nonprofit Corporation Act, and was instrumental in communicating federally about the importance of not having sponsorships as taxable revenue and not having all expenditures receive 1099 tax forms.

“Her work to incorporate advocacy into the work of MSAE and the association culture in Michigan has set an example for others around the country.”
