Wednesday started off with the Edutour. Attendees spent the day exploring venues in Downtown Detroit for a hands-on look at the unique practices that make them successful.
Attendees ended the first night of ORGPRO dancing the night away to the Killer Flamingos and eating Detroit-based foods, all thanks to our host MotorCity Casino Hotel!
Day 2 of ORGPRO 2018 started off with a rousing opening Keynote by Beth Z on tech tools to stay safe and productive in 2018 that got the attendees excited to take on the full day of education.
Wednesday's education was full of best practices and latest trends revolving around Marketing, Membership, Meeting planning, Operations, and Sales.
We also introduced the CAE Summit at ORGPRO 2018 for the first time as a concurrent conference at the event.
Wednesday’s lunch gave us the opportunity to celebrate and pin the newest CMPs and CAEs.
After lunch, we listened to an eye-opening keynote on the power of AI and how associations can use the technology to engage members.
Throughout the duration of the convention, attendees bid on destinations in Michigan, sports tickets, handcrafted gifts and more, all donated by the wonderful sponsors and suppliers that keep MSAE events going! The proceeds for the Silent Auction were split among the Kevin A. Kelly Scholarship, MSAE Building Fund and The Greening of Detroit (ORGPRO 2018's official charity)
Following afternoon breakout sessions, Wednesday’s celebrations kicked off with the MarketPlace Reception, where association and supplier attendees could network and grow their relationships.
Who says you can’t have a little something sweet before dinner? Definitely not the emerging professionals who joined us at the Emerging Professional Reception before heading off to the Cobo Center for some vitamin D!
After a full day of learning and thoughtful conversations, attendees couldn’t resist a little fun in the sun.
The third and final day of ORGPRO 2018, brought more education and great discussions in the form of mini sessions, tech labs, and deep dives.
The 2018 Rising Leaders 2018 were honored at Thursday’s brunch.
Our final keynote, Stuart Meyer, gave us some great ideas on how to share not only our unique stories by our members as well!
What better way to wrap up ORGPRO 2018 than giving to an amazing charity, The Greening of Detroit. MSAE is thrilled to contribute over $2,800 to the charity’s Green Corp kids program! The proceeds were raised through the Silent Auction run during ORGPRO.

Starting in January of this year, Hanna Featherston joined the MSAE team as our meetings intern. She has already shown leadership in taking on any task and project available. Currently finishing her degree majoring in Recreational and Event Management with a minor in Business Administration at Central Michigan University, her graduation date is set for August 2018.
MSAE is seeking quality, high level breakout presentations for our annual conference. Presenters should be prepared to challenge and engage association professionals in an interactive learning environment. Serious contenders apply today.
I am honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement award from Michigan Meetings & Events magazine. I could not be at the event…… the great guy I married over 32 years ago and I went for a needed break in Mexico. Fortunately, they prerecorded my acceptance speech.
