Governor Snyder Keynotes MSAE's Legislative Public Policy Conference Bookmark

Plan now to attend this important event on February 16, 2016, and invite your members as well.
For the third year in a row, Governor Rick Snyder will kick off MSAE’s Legislative and Public Policy Conference, the premier and most provocative legislative and public policy conference in Lansing. The conference is slated for Tuesday, Feb. 16 at the Radisson Hotel Lansing at the Capitol.

Mark your calendars and make a plan: March 4th is National Employee Appreciation Day! Bookmark

Organizations would not be able to operate without employees. This simple fact is too often overlooked and unacknowledged because our days are jam packed with more to-dos than we have time to do! We forget to stop to thank those around us for everything they do to help the organization succeed. This is the reason the first Friday in March has been set aside every year since 1995 as Employee Appreciation Day.

Is Your Employment Handbook Up-to-Date? Bookmark

An employment handbook is a critical tool for communicating to employees. It provides employees one place to get everything they need to know about their employment. 10 Event Trends for 2016 Bookmark

What trends will have an impact on your event in 2016?
2016 is #backtotech. The first piece of news is that 2016 will be about event technology, more than ever before. As the event tech market expands, attendees grow tired of usual concepts, and more event professionals see a direct link between the use of technology and better engagement. EventMb said that in July: 94% of event professionals will invest in technology to increase engagement at events.

New tax forms may hit your desk Bookmark

New Tax Forms May Hit Your Desk
As a result of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), some taxpayers will receive unfamiliar tax forms at the beginning of 2016. Forms 1095-A, 1095-B and1095-C ask for information about the health coverage you offered in 2015. In addition, some employees may receive forms regarding their health coverage. Form 1095-A will be sent to individuals enrolled through the Marketplace. Form 1095-C is for employers of more than 50 employees. Form 1095-B is for those employees not covered in either of the above forms.
Click here for information on these new forms, including who should expect to receive them and what to do with them.

The January 1st increase of Michigan's minimum wage serves as a reminder of the requirement to hang the current Michigan Workforce Opportunity Wage Act poster. Now's a great time to ensure all your employment posters are up to date and in the correct location.
