As you likely know by now, MSAE has convened a Safe Meetings in Michigan (SMIM) Work Group.
· This is a short-term work group whose purpose is to develop recommendations/guidelines for groups of 10 – 10,000 to meet safely.
· We know how important hospitality/tourism/events are to Michigan’s economy and to the missions of our respective organizations.
· SMIM is comprised of representatives from some of Michigan’s largest organizations representing health, tourism, meetings and trade associations.
Michigan Venture Capital Association (MVCA), the nonprofit trade association that advocates for increases in the amount of capital and talent for Michigan’s entrepreneurial and investment community, announced today the release of the 2020 MVCA Research Report, a comprehensive analysis of investment activity in the state.
It's not possible to capture all of the remarkable things association leaders have done in the past week. The news feed, my Twitter roll, TV... everywhere I look, I see the difficult decisions you are making and critical leadership you are providing to your members, your teams, and society at large. If you ever doubted it before, you can hardly do so now: your members need you.
In these past ten days, the needs of your members have driven you out of bed, pulled at your core, and challenged you to think more, do more, lead more. Their need pushed you to utilize the capacity of your self and your organizations in ways that weren't previously considered. "Can we...?" "What if we...? "How can we...?" Barriers that were once onerous and formalities that seemed important have been stripped away by the driving need of your members.
MSAE's Board of Directors took decisive action this week in support of the restoration of funding for the Pure Michigan campaign. MSAE is proud to stand by many of our organizational and allied members urging state leaders to get Pure Michigan back on track before too much momentum is lost. Michigan's tourism lobby has done fantastic work in getting the message out about Pure Michigan's significance to the state's economy. If supporting this effort makes sense for your organization, they would certainly welcome additional voices to the cause...
