Share Your Expertise

In Shared Interest Groups, members engage in joint activities and discussions and share information while building relationships that enable them to learn from each other. SIGs are free to MSAE members and are an excellent way to maximize the value of MSAE membership. Check out the SIGs below.

Chief Executive Officer / Chief Staff Executive SIG

Association CEOs are invited to join the SIG, which meets quarterly in-person/virtually (by region) and as needed. Participants are also able to seek perspectives from and share solutions with their peers 24/7 via a private online community. Participation in this group requires approval and conversations are strictly confidential. If you are CEO of an association, chamber, CVB, or AMC and you'd like to participate in this SIG, contact Donna Oser, CAE.

Membership SIG

This group of membership professionals meets regularly to talk about membership-related topics and ideas to explore new concepts and help their associations grow. This SIG aims to share best practices and to facilitate conversations on the most important issues membership professionals are dealing with. The Membership SIG also enjoys a private community on MSAE's website.

Finance And Accounting SIG

CFOs, directors, managers of finance, and others with responsibilities related to financial issues are invited to participate in the SIG. The group meets periodically to discuss individual experiences and share best practices and also shares information and samples via their online community. On occasion, outside expertise is invited into the SIG to ensure members are aware of current issues.

No. 2 Executives, COOs, and Deputies SIG

The No. 2 Executives, COOs, and Deputies SIG deals with the myriad issues facing chief operating officers and No. 2 executives in associations. Topics relate to functional areas of associations and to the unique nature of being second in command. Pre-approval is required for participation in the SIG. Contact MSAE if you're interested.

Marketing & Communications SIG

The Marketing & Communications SIG provides a forum for those working in marketing and communications to discuss work related issues, concerns, and great ideas. The SIG meets occasionally in-person/virtually and also utilizes an online community to continue the conversation and idea-sharing year-round.

Emerging Professionals SIG

The Emerging Professionals SIG is designed for association professionals under the age of 35 as well as those who've been in the industry for fewer than 5 years, The SIG meets regularly to discuss topics relevant to members' career and personal development needs, help young emerging professionals establish contacts, and develop leadership skills to succeed in the association industry. 

Meetings & Education SIG

The Meetings & Education SIG brings meetings and education professionals together to explore the many areas of association meeting management and share ideas and solutions. This SIG is supported by an online community for ongoing discussions and sharing of sample documents.
