MSAE: Tell us about your family, pets, and where you call home.
AJ: My husband Andrew and I were married in 1996. We have three adult sons; Christian, Gabe & Seth. We reside in the beautiful port city of Frankfort, MI.
    MSAE: What do you do for fun or to relax?

    AJ: I enjoy travel, reading, and visiting craft breweries. My happy place is the Caribbean and I love to scuba dive. I also enjoy visiting our beautiful national parks.

    MSAE: How did you first become involved with MSAE, and what motivated you to do so?

    AJ: I joined as a supplier member when I started working with the association market.

    MSAE: What made you want to join MSAE's Board of Directors? 

    AJ: Over the years I have gained an understanding of the important role associations play in our state. I feel that MSAE is critical in supporting the industry and promoting positive growth. Having been a member of associations and having experience with board service, I feel I can positively contribute to the mission of the organization.

    MSAE: What message or advice would you like to share with other members who might be considering getting more involved?

    AJ: MSAE offers a wealth of opportunities for education, professional development, and networking. No matter your role in the industry, there is something for everyone.

    MSAE: Tell us a little bit about your experience working with or for associations. 

    AJ: Through my work at Crystal Mountain, I have experience with association events such as annual meetings, continuing education, board meetings, and fundraising events. Personally, I was a member of Michigan Association of School Boards for 10 years. Through Crystal Mountain, I have participated in several associations with which we are members, on both the state and national levels.

    MSAE: What other board work, volunteering, or side work do you do?

    AJ: I currently serve as President for West Michigan Tourist Association. Formerly I served 10 years on the Frankfort Elberta Area Schools Board of Education. I volunteer for various events through our local Chamber of Commerce.

    MSAE: Is there anything else we should know about you? 

    AJ: As a new board member I am looking forward to getting to know the other board members and learning how I can contribute to the group.
