Industry Partners: 5 Hot Tips for Big Impact with The Association Buyers Guide

The number one request MSAE gets from members is for referrals for products and services. That's why we're so excited to launch The Association Buyers Guide, a comprehensive resource designed to connect association professionals with suppliers and service partners who really understand the unique needs of associations. This guide will assist our members in making informed purchasing decisions, streamlining RFP processes, and maximizing resources.

MSAE encourages our industry partners to maximize your presence in the Association Buyer's Guide. To help you do this, we've put together this blog with 5 hot tips. (Prefer to watch the video? Click below!)

Hot Tip #1: Upload Your Company Logo 

Company profiles with logos have a much stronger visual presence than those without. To upload your company logo:

  1. Log into msae.org.
  2. Go to your Member Compass by clicking your name in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Access your Company from the menu listed on the left.
  4. Review the contact data to ensure accuracy; update as needed.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the profile to upload your company logo.
  6. Click the save button in the upper right corner before exiting. 
Hot Tip #2: Select at least One Allied Category

MSAE partners may have up to four allied categories selected in their profiles. These categories determine if and how prospective customers will find your Company in The Association Buyers Guide. 

To select your allied categories:

  1. View all of the categories listed in the Association Buyers Guide. If you support meetings and education, remember to view these categories too!
  2. Go to your Member Compass and select Company from the menu on the left.
  3. Scroll down to Industry Partner - Categories for Buyers Guide.
  4. Begin typing in the category(s), and the system will finish populating the category for you.
  5. Remember to save the profile when you're done. 
Hot Tip #3: Ensure Company Representatives are Linked and Updated 

Prospective customers can find you (or your representatives) and communicate directly through our secure system. So, having current contact information for representatives is crucial. To do so:

  1. Go to your Member Compass and select People from the menu on the left.
  2. Add, remove, or update representatives as necessary. (Alternatively, representatives can update their data by logging into the system.)
  3. Add current head shots for representatives. As with logos, profile images have a significant impact when prospective customers view your company profile.
  4. Remember to save the profile when you're done. 
Hot Tip #4: Upgrade to an Enhanced Listing

Enhanced listings prioritize your listing to the top of the category, allow you to share more information about your Company, and empower you to promote special offers to MSAE members. Enhanced listings can be purchased here. Once you've been notified that your enhanced listing has been activated:

  1. Go to your Member Compass and select Company from the menu on the left.
  2. Scroll down to the Marketing section and add:
    - Your Company's social media URLs/handles
    - An Organization Overview
    - A special offer for MSAE members
  3. Remember to save the profile when you're done. 
Hot Tip #5: 'Own' Your Category by Purchasing the Category Ad

Ad space is available at the top of each category. This reasonably priced ad space ensures that your Company is at the top of the page when prospective customers are researching your chosen category. Securing the category ad for your target product or service will significantly impact your visibility.
