Bonnifer Ballard

Bonnifer Ballard is the CEO of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association where she leads a small staff team and leads the implementation of the strategic plan. Having only been with MVMA for a year, she has already made an impact on operational efficiencies and enhanced their advocacy efforts. She is currently helping lead the organization through the strategic planning process.
She recently completed a decade-long tenure with the Michigan Section of the American Water Works Association (MI-AWWA) as their executive director. While there, Ballard cultivated a strong staff team, grew programs and services, and helped lead the organization through several strategic challenges. She has held positions during her career with a number of scientific, health, and human rights organizations and brings a wealth of association management experience to her role.
Ballard holds the Certified Association Executive credential. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Cleary University and a Master’s degree in Leadership Development from North Central College. Ballard is a U.S. Navy veteran and lives in west Michigan with her husband, Todd, and their four dogs, Nala, Jack, Duke, and Ralph.
