Professional Bio


Ron Brenke is the Executive Director for Michigan offices of two engineering organizations: the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). As Executive Director, Mr. Brenke provides leadership and direction towards the achievement of the organization’s mission and strategic goals and receives governance from the Board of Directors. Ron is also manager of the Qualifications-Based Selection (QBS) coalition.

His previous experience includes 6 years with the Michigan Road Builders Association (now MITA) and 5 years with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

Ron is a licensed professional engineer and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University. He has served on the Civil and Environmental Engineering Advisory Boards at Michigan State University and Western Michigan University as well as the surveying advisory board at Michigan Tech.

Ron was appointed to serve on Governor Snyder’s the 21st Century Infrastructure Commission in 2015 and was recently appointed by Governor Whitmer to serve on the Infrastructure and Places Workgroup as part of the Growing Michigan Together Council. He is married to his wife Michelle and has 3 children Dalton, Abigael, and Sophie.
