Professional Bio
Scott T. Ellis is the Executive Director of the Michigan Licensed Beverage Association (MLBA) and President of Ellis & Associates, a business development, government relations, and security consulting firm headquartered in Mason, Michigan. He has spent more than two decades working at the intersection of public safety, government policy, and the hospitality industry, earning a reputation for integrity, strategic leadership, and effective relationship building across the public and private sectors.
Since becoming Executive Director of the MLBA in December 2011, Ellis has worked extensively with federal, state, and local government leaders to promote responsible alcohol regulation, public safety, and fair treatment of Michigan’s licensed beverage industry. He is a nationally recognized speaker and consultant on highway safety, alcohol laws, and hospitality industry issues, and is frequently invited to present on these topics to industry professionals, law enforcement, and policymakers.
A graduate of Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, Ellis has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Child Abuse Protocol Board, the Association of Chiefs of Police Traffic Safety Committee, the Impaired Driving Steering Committee, the Resurrection School Security and Safety Committee, and the Small Talk Child Abuse Prevention Board. He is a member of the Association of Chiefs of Police and the Sheriff’s Association, and previously served as Chair of the Michigan Society of Association Executives.
