Professional Bio
Chuck Perricone attended Kalamazoo College and graduated with honors from Western Michigan University (B.B.A., 1989). Recruited by (then) Price Waterhouse, he served in local government and on the board of a large neighborhood association prior to running for Michigan’s State House of Representatives. WMU awarded Perricone an Honorary Doctorate in 1999.
As the first Speaker of the House under term limits, he and his team successfully integrated 64 (of 110) newly-elected Representatives, created the “Speaker’s Library” in the Capitol, named and moved Members into a new House office building, and then introduced laptops to the Floor. He presided over a near record-setting level of legislation, with particular focus on tough, perennial issues including the first debate and vote on Capital Punishment since 1938. After years of procedural opposition in the House, Senate, and the Governor's office, Perricone orchestrated the passage of responsible “Concealed Carry” legislation predicated on federal background checks and thorough training requirements.
Former Speaker Perricone founded The Perricone Group of companies, which includes Capitol Strategies, LLC, DomeGuide.com, and DomeIQ.com, a transformative virtual platform backed by numerous current and former legislators and their leaders that connects issue experts and advocates with elected and serving officials in real time.
He continues to launch innovative, nonpartisan programming for all legislators and their leadership.
In addition to mentoring newly elected Legislators and their Leaders, Perricone continues to apply his network, strategic skills, and regulatory experience to the development of complex policy solutions for a diverse portfolio of select clients.
